How to play Spectrum
Spectrum is a worldwide daily colour-memory puzzle. Everyone receives the same target colour for the UTC day.
Standard round
- You have five seconds to memorise the target colour.
- After it is hidden, use the red, green and blue sliders to recreate it.
- You have 20 slider changes and four match attempts.
- A match of 95% or higher solves the daily puzzle.
- Peeking shows the target again but costs one match attempt.
Perfect mode
After solving, you may continue with 20 refinement moves. An exact channel locks automatically. Match all three RGB channels exactly to record a 100% perfect result.
Leaderboards
Submitting is optional. The server recalculates your final accuracy and stores one best score per browser each day. The daily board favours perfection, then accuracy, fewer guesses, fewer moves and a shorter completion time.
The all-time board adds the best accuracy score from each submitted daily puzzle. A 97% result contributes 97 points; improving that day to 100% replaces it with 100 points rather than adding a second result.
Daily reset: the next worldwide puzzle starts at 00:00 UTC. In the UK that is midnight during GMT and 1:00 am during British Summer Time.
